Patient Participation Group (PPG)

Your PPG is made up of a diverse group of patients ranging in age from sixth form students, parents with young children, through to retired people with a lifetime of experience in business and professions.

We also include people with a wide range of medical conditions including high blood pressure, diabetes and heart problems, as well as the blind and severely disabled. Of course we have members with no health problems at all.

As such we feel we represent a true voice of the patients of Newport Pagnell Medical Centre.

We are here to provide a means for patients to make suggestions about the practice and to provide a two-way communication system between patients and the staff within the practice.  We act as a representative group that can be called upon to influence the local provision of health and social care.

• We will keep you, the patients of Newport Pagnell Medical Centre, informed of up and coming improvements within the practice. 
• We will carry out surveys from time to time into a whole variety of subjects e.g. measuring patient satisfaction, health needs and experiences.
• We will be exploring the changing needs of the patients and provide feedback to the practice of any changes you would like to see.
• We also need your help.  We need to know what your health and social care concerns are so that we can pass these on to the people within the practice who need to know.

Dear Patient,

We would like to know how we can improve our service to you and how you perceive our surgery and staff. 

To help us with this, we are setting up a virtual patient representation group so that you can have your say. We will ask the members of this representative group some questions from time to time, such as what you think about our opening times or the quality of the care or service you received. We will contact you via email and keep our surveys succinct so it shouldn’t take too much of your time.

We aim to gather around a hundred patients from as broad a spectrum as possible to get a representative sample. We need young people, workers, retirees, people with long term conditions and people from non-British ethnic groups.
